Repair the Future
acrylic on wall, 10'x40'
1st & Farmington Road, Beaverton, OR, 2020
Muralist Emily Lux and I organized this project for the July 4th weekend. The phrase was inspired by a recent poem by Claudia Rankine, and the backgrounds were painted by teens and young adults to represent the issues that matter to them. Supported by volunteers and local businesses in Beaverton, this two-day mural illustrates what collective action (and public art!) are capable of. And seeing creative Zoomers in action even gave me hope that they can answer the daunting mess ahead.
