As a visiting artist, I have taught hundreds of K-12 children in schools, after-school programs, libraries, camps, and community classes. My programs focus on community murals and literacy/book projects, but residencies can also be tweaked to fit the themes and topics you are studying in the classroom. **Download Residency Brochure
Art Residencies:
1-2 hours per class, residencies can last two weeks-two months and involve multiple classes and grades in your school
- Murals in Magazine Collage or Acrylic Paint
- Famous Artist Experiments (Matisse cut-outs, Picasso portraits, etc.)
- Book Projects, writing/illustration workshops
Author Visits:
One-hour author visits include a reading, a short discussion and a simple writing /drawing activity based on the themes of the book. What frustrates you? What actions and skills give you power?
Public Presentations:
1-2 hour, assembly-style presentations include:
- Presentation about my books and my life as an artist/author with accompanying visual aids
- Q&A session
- Coloring sheets or bookmarks for kids to take home
